SOME SKIN FACTS
1. The skin is your largest organ stretching approximately 20ft2 around you. It produces new skin cells 5 layers down, all the time, which naturally die as they migrate to the surface. These dry skin cells are what we deal with during the process of exfoliation.
2. Your skin is fed by your blood, so, good nutrition and supplements are critical to the growth of great skin.
3. There is no such thing as ‘Normal’ skin (just think how ridiculously vague that term is) so our professional skin analysis determines your skin type and thus the correct skin care techniques for your skin.
4. The skin protects the body and regulates body temperature. It has a natural pH balance. Skin improves if you work WITH it, not against it.
5. There is no such thing as a healthy tan (despite popular opinion!).Sun (UVA & UVB) will damage and age your skin. A tan is the skin’s way of protecting itself from further damage. Advice: Try a spray on tan…and wear sunscreen every day.
6. The aging process cannot be reversed (nothing in nature has the ability to get younger!). The Sun and Oxygen are nature’s way of aging the skin. Anti oxidants and a UVA sun screen are critical for your skin care regimen to slow the aging process.
7. The skin has no gender or cultural bias. Men’s and women’s skin of all ethnicity needs equal levels of care.
8. Collagen and Elastin fibers are produced by fibroblasts inside your body and appropriate peptides can stimulate their growth.
